01

The brief

Industrial concrete operations generate continuous slurry — solids-laden water that doesn't lend itself to skip-bin disposal. The client needed a compact, on-site system to separate the solids from the liquid: reducing disposal volumes, recovering usable material, and improving environmental compliance, all within the footprint of the existing yard.

Constraints: continuous duty, abrasive load, limited space, existing material-handling routes that couldn't be interrupted.

02

Our approach

Designed site-first: the system's shape and footprint were driven by the actual yard, gantry access and material-handling routes rather than the other way around. AS/NZS-aligned structural design and fabrication throughout. Modular layout for future capacity expansion.

  • Materials specified for abrasion resistance and longevity in continuous slurry duty
  • Operator-led design — easy access, no awkward maintenance points
  • Standards-aligned structural calculations and welded fabrication
  • Built and assembled in workshop, delivered as a complete package
03 — Process

From site survey to commissioning.

Six stages from the first measurement to operator handover.

  1. 01

    Site survey & flow characterisation

On-site measurement of actual slurry volumes, solids content and the daily operating cycle. No assumptions — real numbers drove the design.

  2. 02

    Concept design

Throughput sizing, footprint envelope, structural concept, integration with existing site routes and services.

  3. 03

    Engineering & specification

Structural calculations, material selection for abrasion and duty, drainage and overflow design. AS/NZS-aligned throughout.

  4. 04

    Fabrication

CNC profiles, welded fabrication, in-workshop trial assembly. QA at each stage.

  5. 05

    Site delivery & install

Delivered and installed on the client's operating site with minimal disruption to existing throughput.

  6. 06

    Commissioning & operator training

Flow testing, snag clearance, operator walk-through and handover with documentation.

04 — Outcome

What the system delivers.

Compact on-site separation

Fits within the original yard footprint. No extension to site boundary required.

Solids recovery

Dewatered solids ready for cost-effective disposal or downstream re-use.

Water reclaim

Reclaimed water available for site re-use where the process permits.

Lower disposal cost

Reduced waste volume off-site — direct, ongoing operating-cost saving.

Standards-aligned

Designed and fabricated to AS/NZS for years of continuous-duty operation.

Built to expand

Modular layout allows future capacity increase without redesign.
